SUMMER DIRECTOR will be at least 25-30 years of age by April 2024. This is a perfect position for a teacher or education student. This position is like the 'principal of the school' at camp or the 'cabin leader of the staff'.
Duties /skills: - responsible for all aspects of the summer and the direct supervision and support of all staff. -will have good role modelling skills and critical thinking -deal with children and youth and will have a general understanding of what summer camp is all about -good communication skills, point of contact for parents -liaison with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors. - a highly organized individual able to multitask and prioritize -support staff, complete paperwork, deal with any camper issues - running facilities and directing maintenance and upkeep - pick up supplies and grocery orders when necessary. This position is one for a mature person who can effectively manage and positively impact a team of young staff. Begins June 1, (working from home in cooperation with the Executive Director) through the camping season living up at camp during the week, until the end of Aug. The month of June is a half-time planning month $500/m (working from home in conjunction with the Executive Director). July and August is full-time and spent at camp. $3400/month/ While the position is from June 28 to August 25 with a few pre-training and team-building sessions in Saskatoon in April, May and June. PROGRAMS COORDINATOR is a full-time activity coordinator and planner and will be at least 19 by April 2024. This person will be very organized, able to implement The summer program plans as laid out by the Executive Director as well as bring their own ideas. Duties/skills -good communication skills (able to give detailed and clear instructions and delegate effectively. -mature, forward-thinking and able to manage time -positively motivate staff to get involved and do their part. -responsible for the FUN and the idea expert! -planning, organizing and having all supplies ready for everything from games, theme days, special events, arts and crafts, activity times, spiritual care time, cabin time ideas and everything in between. -willing to jump in where needed, will help with campers and cabin groups. -work collaboratively with the Executive Director and Summer Director. This position is from June 15 (working from home in cooperation with the Executive Director) $500/m July and August is on-site June 28 to August 25. $3300/m with a few pre-training and team-building sessions in Saskatoon in April, May and June. LIFEGAURD/ FIRST AIDER will be at least 19 by April 2024 and will hold a valid NLS certificate as well as first aid certificate with CPR level C and AED certifications. Duties/Skills -attend and supervise all swim times from the lifeguard chair and be present for waterfront activities. -directly responsible on call 24 hours a day for any minor injuries and for administering any medications that campers require -will keep detailed records of any medications administered, -will keep detaile incidence reports and be well versed in our emergency protocols. -work collaboratively with the Programs Coordinator and Summer Director This is an ideal position for students studying in any healthcare field or for lifeguards who are experienced in first aid. The position is from June 28 to August 25 on site at camp with there a few pre-training and team-building sessions in Saskatoon in April, May and June. $3200/M |
CABIN LEADERS/SUMMER STAFF are directly responsible for the 24-hour care of their cabin group, as well as for the general well-being of all campers.
Duties/Skills: - mature, good role models -patient and organized -work cooperatively as a team with their peers. -experience with a variety of ages of children and youth is an asset. -will help implement the summer program as laid out by the Programs Coordinator and work as a team under the supervision of the Summer Director and Executive director. -will rotate through the kitchen helper role and groundskeeping role to have extra downtime while still being an important part of the team at camp! -will act in the best interest of our campers for their safety and wellbeing. -will be good role models to all children at camp and conduct themselves as such at all times even while off-site -will lead a variety of activities including games, sports, waterfront, arts and crafts, singing, skits, bible study, vespers, and campfires. Cabin leaders should be at least 17 by April 2023. The position is from June 28 to August 25 on-site at camp with a few pre-training and team-building sessions in Saskatoon in April, May and June. $3000/M (Not able to commit to the entire summer as a cabin leader? Camp Head Cook -makes meal plans, orders supplies, preps meals, cleans and organizes kitchen, and cooks all meals for the entire camp for the duration of each camp. - have previous kitchen experience cooking for large groups, practice safe food handling and storage -must be able to multi-task well, be organized -have good communication skills A completed food safety course is also required.This position is from June 24 to Aug 25 $3500/M Assistant Cook assists with all kitchen duties, meal prep and serving. The assistant cook is directly responsible to the head cook and works in cooperation with the head cook. The position is from June 24 to August 25. Food safety course is appreciated.$3000/M C.I.T.Program (Cabin leader In Training) If you would like to see what it would be like to work at camp and to gain experience working with kids, then this program is for you! Come to staff leadership training Sun June 30 to July 1 and then spend the week in a cabin with campers as a Cabin Leader in Training. R.I.T. Program (Recreation Director in Training) Spend the week at camp learning how to lead large group games, canoeing and swimming activities at the lake. Any 15 to 17 year old interested in being a R.I.T. (Recreation Director in Training) or a C.I.T. (cabin leader in training) should fill in the C.I.T. application form.
