Job Descriptions


Program Director will be 20 by April of 2022. The director is responsible for planning and implementing all aspects of the summer programs through the direct supervision of all staff, organizing cabin and activity groups, and acting as a liaison between the board of directors and the staff throughout the summer. This position begins June 1, carries on through the camping season up at camp, and continues until September 1. The month of June is a planning month and pays $1,000 with July and August being full time and spent at camp and pays $3,000 per month each month.

Recreation Director is a full time activity coordinator and planner as well as full time lifeguard and waterfront personnel. Rec director must be 18 by April 2022 and hold a valid NLS. This position is from July 2 to August 30. Pay is $2,800 per month.

Counsellors are directly responsible for the 24 hour care of their cabin group, as well as the general well being of all campers, and implementing the program as laid out by the Program Director. As we are a United Church Camp it is expected that counselors are good role models to all children at camp and conduct themselves as such at all times.  Counselors lead a variety of activities as well as bible study, vespers, and campfires. Counselors should be 18 by April 2020. The position is from July 2 to August 30. Pay is $2,600 per month.

Medical Personnel is directly responsible 24 hours a day for any minor injuries and for administering any medications that campers require.  Medical personnel must be a valid RN, MD,  EMT or hold valid first aid certification. The position is from July 2 to August 30. Pay is $2,800 per month. 

Camp Head Cook makes meal plans, orders supplies, preps meals, cleans and organizes kitchen, and cooks all meals for the entire camp the duration of each camp. Applicants must have previous kitchen experience cooking for large groups, must be able to multitask well, and must have a good understanding of portioning and timing for large groups. A completed food safety course is also required.the position is from July 2 to Aug 30. Pay is $3,400 per month.

Assistant Cook assists with all kitchen duties, meal prep and serving.  The assistant cook is directly responsible to the head cook and works in cooperation with the head cook. The position is from July 2 to August 30. Food safety course is appreciated but not mandatory. Pay is $2,600 per month

C.I.T. (Counsellors in Training)

If you would like to see what it would be like to work at camp and to gain experience working with kids, then this program is for you! Spend the week in a cabin with campers as a Counsellor in Training. 

R.I.T. Program
(Recreation Director Training Program)

Spend the week at camp learning how to lead large group games, canoeing and swimming activities at the lake.

Any 16 or 17 year old interested in being a R.I.T. (Recreation Director in Training) or a C.I.T (counsellor in training) should fill in the C.I.T. application form and email it to:  director@camptapawingo.net
