Hi everybody!
Scott Mills here again, with a fresh new Director's blog! I thought I'd make a post today since there is exactly one month left until camp is officially open for business! If you're reading this there's a pretty good chance you're too old for the camp (aged 7-9) but that doesn't mean you can't get excited! And if you coming to that camp and are already an avid blogger good on ya! Way to start young! It's been an interesting couple weeks planning camp so far this summer. I've been meeting with our wonderful board members, planning the daily activities (stay tuned for a special announcement about that!) and trying to schedule some volunteers, CIT's and special guests to come up and enjoy camp Tapawingo with us this summer. Once again, if you're interested in being up at camp this summer to volunteer/CIT send me an email at director@camptapawingo.net. The sooner the better! Spots are filling up fast and we have a great bunch of people coming up to work with us throughout the summer! You're never too old to spend a week at camp! I've also got something pretty exciting to mention today! Tapawingo is looking for a new official logo! We will be telling campers about it at camp and seeing if we get anything that might be merchandise worthy! Heck if it's good enough we might even get the seniors to repaint the old sign at the entrance by the parking lot! But why should this year's campers have all the say? Because they're paying to come to camp? Because they're usually pretty talented? Because the current director was deemed incompetent with regard to his artistic abilities? All good points I suppose, but we're willing to let those of you reading this online have your own chance too! If you've got any ideas, whether they be Glen Scrimshaw masterpieces, or doodles you drew in math class fire them away! You can send them to director@camptapawingo.net and I'll be sure to receive them enthusiastically, if not a tad enviously. That's all I've got for today, but hopefully I'll be back on here soon! Until then go play outside, follow us on twitter (@camp_tapawingo) and stay classy! Scott Mills Hi folks! Scott Mills here, camp Director for summer 2013! We've got another great summer up at Camp Tapawingo coming up and this year I'll be logging on regularly to blog about what to expect at camp this year, how things are going and everything else you need to know! This post is just kind of a "mike check" to make sure I know what I'm doing on the site but I suppose I could tell you all who's gonna be on staff this year. Here's the list:
Director: Scott Mills Rec Director: Alyssa Mooney Medic: Christine Klatt Assistant Cook: Zach Serviss Male Counselors: Danny Bond, Aanen Butz Female Counselors: Kim Meier, Erin Mills, Paige Adrian Sounds a little too good to be true right? Well it's not, so if you're coming to camp this year, best bring your A game. Our team could always be better though! We need volunteers and CIT's! If you're interested drop me a line at director@camptapawingo.net, The CIT application form can also be found right here on this website! Convenient right? That's enough blogging for me today, but you haven't heard the last from me! So keep checking the site, follow us on twitter (@camp_tapawingo) and stay classy! Scott Things are starting to roll for the 2013 Camping Season.
